TracfoneTips - Voip 911 Calls

Voip 911 calls can be an Issue

Voip uses your high speed internet access to make phone calls. Talking through your computer. Your computer, laptop may be hooked up to the internet almost anywhere. The Voip phone system may not be able to hook you up with your local 911. Skype is not set up to hook you up to your local 911 exchange. There have been reports of people not being able to get ahold of 911 with a regular phone hooked up to their computer. This could be dangerous.??

The Voip 911 Calls Solution

If you are using a normal landline type of phone for Voip in your home put the 911 information on your handset.
Write the phone number of the local police department and the address of the phone. Tape this to the back of the handset. In an emergency if a visitor has to call for an ambulance that information on the handset will be really handy.
Dialing 911 will not work on a lot of the Voip phone systems.
Here is a picture of the Voip 911 Calls Solution.
